Scotland's Best-Stocked and Most Popular Stamp Shop
Albums, Catalogues, and Accessories
For many tears we carried one of the best stocks in the U.K., but are now de-stocking on some ranges.
We are not tied to any manufacturer or supplier, and can stock, advertise, and advise independently.
We keep HUNDREDS of lines in stock, available off-the-shelf, at any one time.

As a matter of standard practice we will usually advise shop customers of alternative lines if these give better value for money. If you are ordering by post/phone/fax/e-mail, please say if you would like to hear of any alternatives.

Prangnell and Rapkin albums

Last updated Monday 16 August 2021. Copyright Robert Murray, 1999 to 2021.

Prangnell  ::::  Rapkin  ::::  Sarratt

Prangnell and Rapkin stamp albums have been quietly popular with a loyal band of collectors for decades, largely due to their fairly steady specifications. We kept wide stocks of these but have recently found supplies more difficult to maintain, and are now clearing the remaining stocks we hold. Please note that due to changes of ownership, these albums and pages sometimes bear the name "Sarratt Bookbinders" or "Walter Newbury", but they are to the same specifications as the original items by Rapkin or Prangnell. The exact colour of paper has varied over the years, so we cannot guarantee that the pages we supply will exactly match the shade of any existing pages you may have.

Items on this list are all in stock as at today's date. Of some we have reasonable stocks, but of others we have only one or two. We are also including some "antiquated" items which have not been produced for many years, and some second-hand stock we also hold.

Second-Hand Albums/Binders - Quality Definitions

“As New”
In the quality in which you would expect a new
item to be available, or with the amount of wear that would only be seen by very close inspection.
We would expect the majority of our customers to accept this standard as “new”, even though they might be top-grade second-hand.

“Good”
On quick inspection can be seen not to be new, but with only slight wear or marks (which might include e.g. a name written inside).

“Fair”
A binder that has obviously had use and wear, and may have any one of, or a combination of, the following – fading, worn corners, small splits, scratches, neat marks (e.g. volume number on spine). It will look pre-used, but should not be unsightly.

“Functioning”
May well not be pretty, with possibly marks, scratches, small tears, writing and/or labels, fading, etc. The important thing is that the mechanism (springback or rings) is still ok, and the album will do the job of holding pages.

All descriptions of quality are subjective, so if you are fussy, please speak to us first to get a description.
