The Tass 2004 (Tune; Kate Dalrymple)
If you’ve had a hellish day,
When nothing’s gone your way,
But you’ve heard people say that music is a tonic.
Well no more messin
Get down to our session
Cos here you get to play with the Vienna Philharmonic !
* We’ve whistles blawin and we’ve bodhrans bashin
At the Tass, where Westering Home is still in fashion
Leave yer troubles behind
And get music on yer mind
The Tass is the session where the tunes are spiced with passion.
Now, things never stay the same
If they did, it would be a shame
And we always did tell Cammie that he really should go far . . . . .
For Patty’s more mellow
Since she was seduced by a cello
And Cammie’s seldom here - now that he’s a rock star.
And we keep on hoping that Alan might pay us
Free pints every week, aye, that wid dae us
But here’s the rub -
When we play we clear the pub
So we’ll just buy oor ain and hide up on oor dais
No here tonight’s a man,
By the name of Alan Chan,
Who thought that a wee walk might be good for the figure.
So we said “Aye fine”
And showed a map wi a line
But he said “Naw - this is much, much bigger”
“Ye’ll get nae sleep, ye’ll get nae slumber”
“Ye’ll walk till yer feet and brains can get nae numb-er”
He sent us out training
(In the pub if it was raining)
He made us do the Cally Chally - bloody hell, what a bummer.
Well I’d just like to say
Before I go away
That The Tass is something special in my weekly ritual. (reet-u-all)
Well I’ll no be blate
Even though the music’s great
The best thing about The Tass is that I get to meet-you-all.
(reprise *)
