After the main listings you will find various information and instructions. This is followed by a sample bid form, and a copy of the the notes that appear on the reverse of our bid forms.

This is a public auction, in which written/telephone/e-mail bids are also accepted. If you are bidding with us for the first time, please bid by two of these methods with the same bids (e.g. by post and by phone, or by telephone and by e-mail), or bid in good enough time for us to get back in touch with you with any queries.

NEW BIDDERS;

Collections and Mixed Lots.
1     Extensive world accumulation in two cartons, in biscuit tins and plastic tubs. Although the

bulk is large quantities of cheaper stamps and duplicates (usually sorted by country or area),

we note a few UK booklets, and others that may be items intended for inclusion in a main

collection but still to be added. Many 1,000s. Estimate is a guess. þ      ..        £300.
2     Box with modern but useful accum. of often larger items (sheets/sheetlets/m.s./booklets/

packs, etc.) inc. USA, Channel Is., IoM, UK, Australia, etc. – the UK inc. u.m. and c.t.o.

     modern inc. some more difficult. (Many 100s) þ              ..                   ..               ..                £150.
3     Fairly small box, but with quite decent quality contents. Much European, and with lots of

stamps/items cat. at least a few pounds each. Noted are Germany, Canada (inc. Newfound-

     land), France, Alderney, Switzerland, Algeria, etc. (100s) þ                  ..               ..                £150.
4     Carton containing 13 stockbooks and other albums. Mixed world, though there is much of

Germany, Switzerland, and other Europe. Some better or medium quality, mint, etc.

     (1,000s) þ    ..    ..                 ..               ..                   ..               ..                £150.
5     An old Gibbons album (1873 edition) with an interesting though stuck-down world coll-

ection. Only slightly picked at some time, and containing mainly 19th Century issues with

some later additions. Includes two reasonable UK penny blacks, better Norway, German

States and other European, some Commonwealth and Overseas. (1,116)                ..                £120.
6     Accumulation and remainders from a much larger collection, all in one carton. Due to the

original source, we guess this is worth checking – some UK pmk. interest, UK souvenir

packs, mixed albums/stockbooks, loose world stamps, a UN colln., etc. (1,000s) þ £120.
7     Two file boxes with a general collection. Includes parts of a 1990 World Cup colln., a

colln. of UK FDCs, UK 1980 Authoresses 12p u.m  with the “missing p” variety, general

     world album, Stamp Atlas, etc. þ                   ..               ..                   ..               ..                £120.
8     Assortment in box with mixed stamps on stockcards, a bundle of unsold Buy or Bid lots

(s.t.c.£550.), a few pages of m. Commonwealth, and three albums of 1968-80 Germany

     (stamps and covers). (Many 100s) þ              ..               ..                   ..               ..                £100.
9     Fifteen various stockbooks and one album of mixed non-European countries (includes

Commonwealth). Generally excludes larger countries – good though not scarce ranges.

     (1,000s) þ                ..                 ..                 ..               ..                   ..               ..                    90.
10     Old Ideal album with printed spaces to 1917 and some stamps of later dates added. Odd

better here and there e.g. two UK penny blacks (one quite good 4-margin, other badly cut-

     into). Condition typically mixed. (c.450 Commonwealth, 640 foreign) þ                 ..                    80.
11     Large carton of very mixed odds and remainders. Includes several stockbooks, loose, much

foreign, and a small box of reference photos of stamps. (1,000s) þ        ..               ..                    60.
12     Stockbook with the main value in u.m. decimal commems sets, some other countries.
þ                60.
13     Large accum. in big box. Largest part is several volumes of world stamps (more than one

original collection), plus other junior albums, an album of UK PO cards, etc. (1,000s) þ               60.
      14     Five various albums; a Strand with world colln. to about 1930s (1,000s, the UK removed);

three Swing-o-Rings of various countries inc. USA, France, and mixed Commonwealth,

     and a little Minor with UK to 1949. (1,000s) þ               ..                   ..               ..                    50.
15     Small bundle of six remainder club books with all-world content. Remainder PTSA c.£260.

(generally at about 20% cat. – but generally not accounting for condition, so better or worse

value). Another book of UK used QV to KG5 not priced but s.t.c. c.£900. (100s) Also a

Rhodesia 1905 Falls 2/6 m.m. (cat.£100. but with repaired tear and short perfs.) 50.
16     Two boxes with a strange mix – some loose world stamps, UK military/aviation items inc.

wartime covers, club book remainders, etc. Worth checking through. þ ..            50.
17     Collection and odds in medium box. Consists of two junior-type world collections (1,000s),

a world colln. (mainly pre-1960s) in two albums arranged by theme (inc. Japan 1949 Postal

     Week 8¥ m.m.), a few covers (inc. UK 1940 Centenary illus.), etc. þ   ..            50.

stamps), and all sorts of other bits often of interest, even if not very valuable. þ    45.
